Can I ask for permission to Immigration desk in Airport

Hi, my mother is coming to Us on immigrant visa and EWR will be the port of entry. She is not educated and will not speak english. She had trouble giving her finger prints during the visa interview time. I went to US consulate to her with interview few months back. now she is coming to US. Do you know if there is a process to apply so that I can go to immigration desk (I am not travelling) when my mother arrives in US? I heard that immigration officer take the applicant to a interview room and take finger prints in some airports. I just want ot make sure there is no issue at the immigration counter.
Please let me know if there is a process.

i dont think there is anyway in which you could assist your mom at US airport. She needs some assistance..so why dont you write a letter and give it to her..ask her to show at the immigration counter..the letter should say that your mom doesnt know english..so she needs assistance. Some one at the immigration would certainly be able to help her out.
