Hi, I am an Indian citizen residing in the US. My mother applied for my GC under F2B. I submitted all the documents to the NVC under counselor processing. I havent been back to India for about 2 years, so I provided the Police clearance Certificate from CGI Houston. But I recieved a message from NVC saying that it was not correct, and I should provide from the correct issuing authority. I looked at the NVC website, and it says there that if the person resides out of India doe more than6 months, then the PCC is sued by the local embassy/ consulate. Any ideas as to what went wrong and what do I need to do would be much appreciated! Thank you.

If you are in the US, why don't you do Adjustment of Status instead of Consular Processing?

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

I had started the process and paid the fee for counselor processing already before I considered adjustment of status. Also, this had a shorter wait time.
