  • changing martial status from single to married after file I130 form and acceptance

    hallo every one ,
    my dad ( us citizen) file to me form I 130 on date 22/08/2014
    get approved in 24/3/2015
    till no no further action
    i query about time they send mail to file I-824 form
    the problem now i get married 7/2019
    1) how to change the martial status in I 130 form or I 824 ??
    2) it will affect my processing time ???
    3) what to do ???




    please help me

    I believe the approved I-130 is at NVC. So you should notify NVC about your marriage. I don't think I-824 is needed. When you married, you moved from F1 to F3 category, which has a wait of about 12 years instead of 6.5 years for F1.

      Thanks for the info. I'm trying to find more about this but can't find official docs. Do you have any links that clarify the question: what shall an I-130 beneficiary do if got married after I-130 has been approved (the applicant was U.S. citizen when he applied for a son/daughter older then 21).
