Hi...I am trying to help a friend from El Salvador. This is what I know:
His father filed an I-130 (Unmarried sons and daughters over 21) form him and his sisters in March 2001. Apparently he never knew about this (he was estranged from his father) and since then he has married and come to the US.
In the I-130 packet there is a letter at the end stating that his father is eligible for NACARA.
In November 2008 his father received an AOS Fee Bill for $70.00.
I guess the NVC has also sent a letter stating that he needs to act by the end of 2010 or the application will be cancelled.
His father just sent him all these documents last week and he was wondering what his next step is. When I pull his receipt number up in USCIS' website it says:
On May 2, 2005, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice.
For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
The one thing I can not find in the papers sent to him is this approval notice, so we are not sure what our next step is. Does anyone know what the next step might be?
Thank You in advance for any assistance/advice that you have!!
