process after DS230 is processed by NVC

Can you please educate me on the process after NVC has processed DS230 + Affidavit of support forms for IR5 category - Parent of US Citizen.
Consular post is Bombay, India

What happens once DS230 is approved by NVC? I learned that they send the whole application to bombay consulate

Then questions are
which office sets up the interview date? NVC or Bombay consulate
how will I - petitioner be notified of that? or is it that they approach the candidate (mother) directly?

which office provides letter for medical? NVC or Bombay Consulate
how will I - petitioner be notified of that? or is it that they approach the candidate (mother) directly?

1. bombay consulate sets up the appointment, about 3 weeks from the date they received the documents.
2. I got an email from the consulate. my mother also got an email in her account. your mother must take a printout and take it for the interview. without the interview letter, they wont let the candidates in.
3. the bombay consulate will also direct you for medical.
