Lawyer or not lawyer

I hope someone can help me. I am a permanent green card holder. I went to a lowyer for apply on a I130 for my wife and kids. Are n the Philippines at this time. The lawyer charged me $1500. I received a notice that the request was approved. And they will send me another letter with the instructions. Now, the lowyer to continue asked me an additionl $6500. Definitely never will be in the Philippines when the interview will be s hedule. My question is: i still need a lawyer for now on? Why asked me so much money?

Try to ask advice on immigration their and ask if those fees are worth it or the lawyer are making easy money from you.
