inquiry with I-130 approval time
Hello to everyone in this forum. I have been reading the posts by it's member & found it very useful with immigration topics. Great Forum with a huge information resource. Wish I had found it earlier. However let me come to the point. I-130 petition for my spouse was received by USCIS on June 17, 2010 & still it is showing the case status at INITIAL REVIEW, which has been longer than usual period to be approved. I read many of the members in this forum have filed later than my date & their I-130 got approved already by USCIS.I don't know if it is usual or there is something wrong with my petition. Can someone advice me in this regard? Is there anything I can do with USCIS to see the real updates of my case or I should wait for longer to hear from them? Although, I am wondering when could it be the right time to apply for naturalization as I am a LPR since Aug, 1996. Your kind response to my queries will be highly appreciated.

Dear Taniya:
you have to wait a little longer , but still you can contact them through emails or phone or make any infopass appointment, but i doubt if it will do any good.
about naturalization, you can apply any time now for naturalization as after 4 years 9 months presence in the USA , any body is allowed to apply.
regards

When you checked your case status on the USCIS website when was the last time your case was updated or "touched" before you received your approval?
2sahsan: My case was showing only Initial review all the time, and than got approved

update with my case: approved I-130
It has been very useful to read all your posts & Hope I can get some help from you with my case as follow:
My wife is having LPR status & filed an immigrant visa petition for me through I-130 on June 3, 2010, which was received by USCIS on June 14, 2010 & finally got approved by USCIS on November 23, 2010 & been forwarded to NVC. Though NVC has not issued any case no# yet as they said it takes about two weeks to receive & update the approved I-130. However, I have learned through this forum that once the case number is issued, NVC is going to send us CHOICE OF AGENT, I-864, DS-230 & BILLS of RELEVANT FEES. Though I am having some queries & need to know the answers for the following question to prepare myself for the consular process.
1. How long does the process usually take to complete the case by NVC in current situation?
2. When we can expect the case to be forwarded to consular office?
3. Which consular office could be faster & easier to process the visa between DHAKA, BANGLADESH & RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA? As I am a Bangladeshi national & currently working in Saudi Arabia.
4. Do I have an option to ask NVC to forward the case at my preferred consular office?
5. How long it may take to issue a visa by consular office?
Thank you all, for taking your precious time to read my post & put your worthful answers on it.

NVC & consular process
Thanks for your kind reply & help me out with my queries.
Can I assume that NVC & Consular process could be ended up within next 3 months if everything goes in order?
Furthermore, you have given me an important point about to make sure the visa validity of my current country before I ask NVC to forward the case over here. In that case I better go to my home country before the consular process starts. Now I am wondering - should I arrange with my employer to leave from Saudi Arabia (Working place) & travel to Bangladesh (Homeland) in two months for further consular process.

Tania Bhabi apnar case amar caser motoni. U will be assigned a case number withinFew days , if it's starting with DHK that means ur case goes to Dhaka consulate . Saudi consulate will not be so busy like Dhaka , that means u will get an interview date very fast. If u are very fast you can finish the processing of your end in maximum two months . It goes to consulate , bhalo thakun

Well there are lot of them. You have to collect the police clearance certificate from dhaka . May be you can talk to NVC about the Consulate decision or may be some body can give any idea. Your visa interview is generally based on your current location or availability doesn't make any difference about Saudi visa status as long as you working here legally. Apni amake mail korte paren [email protected]
I am still waiting for the ds 230 approval
