NVC assigned a case number
My case was forwarded on Nov 23, 2010 from USCIS to NVC & just received a case number assigned by NVC yesterday. It took about a week for me. Hope the next packages will be sent fast too. Can anyone tell me what can I expect to receive step by step from NVC?

how to change the case number or consular office with NVC?
Thanks @diar48 for your worth information passed to me. I understood that it could be easier to get the process done in saudi US consulate than Dhaka. But I just have noticed that the case number starts with DHK. Therefore NVC is going to forward the case to Dhaka consular section for further processings. Do you think I have an option to change the consular office at Saudi instead of Dhaka? If so, please let me know how can I request NVC to do that for me? Thanks again for your time & kind reply.

The best thing to do is send all your documents as and when NVC asks you from Saudi Arabia. When NVC schedules the interview for you in your home country they will give you atleast 30-25 day notice till your interview date so then you can travel to your home country.
Good luck.

Can I assume that NVC & Consular process could be ended up within next 3 months if everything goes in order?
Furthermore, you have given me an important point about to make sure the visa validity of my current country before I ask NVC to forward the case over here. In that case I better go to my home country before the consular process starts. Now I am wondering - should I arrange with my employer to leave from Saudi Arabia (Working place) & travel to Bangladesh (Homeland) in two months for further consular process.

so worried!
My PD is August 5, 2010. I just found a person with PD August 26 on another form whose case just got approved by California Service center. I am also getting a little worried because my case also has not been approved yet. :s and it is still under "initial review" status

One more thing. When you checked your file status online, how often was your file updated?Last edited by sahsan; 12-09-2010, 01:50 AM.
