Calling All F2A's (Spouses & Children of Permanent Residents)
any chance it may still move forward in feb bulletin and by how much?
I highly doubt it'll move forward in feb. At the end of the visa bulletin post there is a note saying that future retrogression is not ruled out. So it could get worse. Sigh.
Probably, January Visa bulletin is the worst thing ever happened with US Immigration policy. More than hundred thousands of US Citizen & Immigrants became depressed with this news. I afraid to think if my case will get stuck by this. As far as I understood my case Priority Date was current in November Visa Bulletin & recently I got a case assigned by NVC. Thus I would like to know if NVC & CO will keep processing my case in regular basis or they will hold it until my PD will become current again by Visa Bulletin after few years? Any feedback will be highly appreciated.
Case Type: F2A

Waiting for the first package to receive from NVC since Dec 02,2010
Hi,
I have my Family Based GC interview on Dec 22nd this month.
Please let us know the kind of questions to expect.
To give you a background, we got engaged on June 1st 2008 and my husband got his GC in July the same year. I came to US on a B1 visa in Dec 2008 and got it converted to H1 in Feb 2009. I have been working since then. We filed for GC in April 2009.
Also, since the Jan visa bulletin retrogressed to Jan 2008 will that affect my GC interview or my GC approval? Please let me know.
So looking at old visa bulletins I sort of came up with my own prediction. In early 2013 all those who filed this summer would have their PD's current. This is just a prediction I made looking at the trend over the years of how PDs moved ahead, retrogressed and then progressed slowly. I only looked at the non-oversubscribed countries. By no means do I think it is accurate, but its just something I did.
Lets hope it moves faster in later months. I do predict for the visa bulletin to not move forward much for the next 3-4 months, but lets hope for the best after that.
hey jewel..
i have already paid the IV fees.my PD is 21march 2010.is this going to harm us anyway?????
my PD is march 11, 2010..i have already submitted my DS-230 and all civil docs..just waiting for my case to be completed..but wid the retrogression on jan.2011 wherein cut off date is jan.2008, i think we have another frustrating and long wait ahead of us..our case MAY be completed but we will not be given a visa number unless our PD becomes current AGAIN..

@jewel i dont thnk it will take too long coz this has happened once before in 2001.it had retragessed to 1999 and in 3 mths time it had come back to 2001.so i guess it should be the case even this time....lets hope for the best and pray...

Yea I was looking at the trend from that year which was 2006, the PD retrogressed from 2002 to 2001 and then to 1999. After those two consecutive retrogressions the PDs for the next two months or so were unavailable, but after that it did start to move forward although at a slow pace. So lets hope for the best and maybe we'll see something positive by the coming summer.
Wow congratz you goy me for my interview in monday.how did it goes?what questions they ask?and what other document they require?
basic questions as date of marriage, who else is sponsoring you, where did you and your wife meet, where do you work at present, does your wife work, how long have you been in this country.
i had taken all the documents which I had already submitted to the NVC and photos of me and wife and the family but the officer didn't ask anything extra to see. But this could be because the interview was in London - UK.
