  • Sibling green card

Hi, I am US citizen and I would like to sponsor my sibling for green card who is above 21 years married and with kids.

What is the faster way for family petition?

Should I get green card for my parents who then sponsor my sibling or should I directly apply for green card for my sibling ?

What is the country of birth of your sibling?

For your parent to petition them, your parent would have to naturalize to become a US citizen first (which would be at least 5 years after immigrating to the US, and they have to pass the test) since US permanent residents cannot petition married children. So add the about 1 year for your parent to immigrate and the 5+ years to naturalize to the wait time in the F3 category (married child of citizen), and compare that the the wait time in the F4 category (sibling of citizen) if you petition your sibling directly.

Of course, you can pursue both routes at the same time just to be safe -- a person can be beneficiary of multiple petitions.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
