Hello, My parent's living in India got approved for a immigrant visa and also have the i-1551 stamped on their passport couple of months ago. They were planning to arrive in the United States by end of this month, but their flights were cancelled due to the corona virus situation. The problem is their I1551 stamp has an expiration date of 4/30.
What is the process of getting an extension to this date? I would appreciate any guidance and insight here. Thanks in advance!

We have sent an email to the US embassy and are abating response for the past several days. The reason I am asking on this forums is that so that I can get some insight from folks who have faced / are facing similar problems.

Hi we are in the same situation, my wife’s visa is valid until June 3 rd , in ur situation since u have already emailed the consulate, I guess u have to wait and see, if the ban on flights are lifted , I suggest u need to use that window and fly out early , but if no flights I guess the consulate will do something, pls let u know , Thank u

Following this thread. Parents (green card holder) are currently in India, they were supposed to fly in April, their deadline is June 1st. Since their flights are cancelled what is process for them to return?
