What's one's legal status after filing for adjustment of status?

Can someone confirm (with references where possible) that legal status remains intact after submitting the AOS application? Thank you.

I filed for a B2 family/based I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765, I-864, I-944;

Day 1 - Application made
Day 2- Application received
Day 16 - Check cashed
Day 19 - Text messages received
Day 21 - Hard paper I-797C receipts received

In some case you can maintain your legal immigration status, others will expire.

AOS doesn't give you a legal immigration status: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/...rt-b-chapter-3 in other words, you don't have a legal status when your B2 authorization expires. You can legally stay in the USA until your AOS is approved.
