  • Bring kids to US

Hello, What is the fastest way to bring the kid to USA? I am an LPR and filed i130 for my child. Is there any way to bring my child asap to US when the i130 is pending?

How did you immigrate? Was the child born before or after you got your green card?

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

When my mom got the US Citizenship, she filed my Green card and thus I got LPR. The child was born before I got the LPR.

Did you immigrate in the Immediate Relative category (unmarried under-21), or F1 (unmarried over-21) or F3 (married) category?

I migrated in F2A category. But I couldn’t file my kid as she won’t be a beneficiary in F2A. Now I got the LPR and would like to bring my kid. What is the fastest way to bring her? Please reply.

I filed the I130 for my step children (I'm a US Citizen) back in April, i'm waiting for the next phase. Their mom passed away and their dad is here in the states so we are hoping to get them here as soon as possible

Thank you for the reply. I won’t be able to bring my child as an immediate relative as I am an LPR. I believe immediate relative is only applicable to U.S citizens.
Does anyone know the fastest way to bring the kid if the mother is a Green Card holder?

F2A (spouse or unmarried under-21 child of permanent resident) can have derivative beneficiaries. Perhaps what happened is you were petitioned by your mother when she was a permanent resident, so your petition was initially in F2A, but your mother became a US citizen before you got your green card, so you actually immigrated in the Immediate Relative category as an unmarried under-21 child of a citizen, which cannot have derivative beneficiaries?
