My wife (US citizen) filed I-130 petition for me. We have been in relationship for long time and got married in 2018. Rest of the information are below:
05/03/2019: I-130 filed (I have withholding of removal, attorney suggested to file I130 first)
05/08/2019: Uscis received application
02/28/2020: Case was Transferred To Another Office (Found this one by checking in USCIS case status online tool)
06/24/2020: Service request filed due of out of outside of normal processing time
We called USCIS multiples time to get updates since USCIS case status online tool has not updated anything since 02/28/2020. While talking with a 2nd tier officer from USCIS on 12/01/2020, she mentioned that our case is little different and USCIS had to do some extra checks/verification but our application is on schedule and processed in the order it was received. The next day, we received an email which says that our petition information has been entered into system which schedules applicant for interviews at their local field office. Interview appointments are schedules as slots become available at the local field office. Since that email, we have not heard anything or USCIS case status online tool has updated our case information.
What are my options to expedite the process? Does having Congressman write a letter to USCIS would help? Please share if anyone has I130 petition experiences regarding when it was files/approved. Any information/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
