  • Marriage-based AOS, spouse originally LPR, now Naturalized. Should I re-apply?

    Hi everyone,

My spouse was originally a LPR when we got married and I applied under ‘F2A’ category for AOS. We had concurrent filing of i485 and i130 as it was current for all countries (as it is still).

    Here are the details:
USCIS received I485, i130 and fingerprint fee: Apr 17, 2020
    Fingerprint taken: Aug 05, 2020
EAD and AP card received: Sep 16, 2020
Case ready to be scheduled for interview: Aug 07, 2020

My spouse is now a naturalized citizen as of Jan 15.

Should I submit a new AOS application or provide supplemental information to my existing application? Will there be faster processing with this or any advantage what-so-ever?

My current status: F1 STEM OPT

    Thanks in advance!

Send a letter to USCIS with your spouse's naturalization certificate and request that your green card application be processed as the immediate relative of a US citizen.

Don't know if it will be faster or not, but you do need to be in the proper category.
