GC request for mother - US citizen son

Hi All:
My mom entered US using her tourist visa, if we want to start her GC application through her US citizen son, does she need to leave United States first? I ve heard that the process is faster if the beneficiary remains in the country.

Hi,
If you want to sponsor GC to parents and they are currently in the USA, You can start after 90 days they entered to USA on B visa. You can file I-130 and I-485 petitions concurrently.. And they don't require to leave the country for filing Adjustment of status. One more advantage is, while Adjustment of status petition is pending, they can remain stay in the USA.
