  • Interview next week but discovered errors in application ????

We hired a lawyer because we thought this would give us peace of mind. Actually all its given me is nightmares. We chose this particular lawyer because he had more than 20 years experience and had success in actually changing immigration laws.
Anyway to cut a long story short, he has just sent us the full forms so we can go over everything and prepare for our interview. I have just noticed that he did not put a previous married name for me down (I have never actually used my previous marital name officially on anything but I was still married under another name). The second thing that I have noticed is that instead of writing down my mother's maiden name they wrote her current name and marked n/a for other names.
My lawyer says this is not an issue and it's perfectly routine for the officer to just write down any corrections at the interview. But after gathering myself together from literally sitting in a pool of tears in my full blown panic attack mode, I would like to know what anyone else thinks. Does it jeopardize our application or is the lawyer right in this instance? thank you.

The officer, himself/herself, will ask you if you want to correct anything in your application. Once the officer has sworn you, you tell the officer you have a couple of items you want to correct and explain it to him/her. You can even file a new application and show him/her what correction you have made or he/she will write on your application. No big deal or crying.
    05/08/20: I-485, I-765, I-131, I-944 sent to USCIS
05/13 Rejected due to lack of I-864
    05/27 resubmitted with explanation
    06/03 Rejected again-same reason
    06/13 Resubmitted with I-864
07/07 Lockbox emailed back and ask to resubmit
07/09 Filings accepted with PD 05/08/20 (nice)
08/06 Prior biometrics applied to I485
08/28 Took biometrics for I-765 only
    09/28 I-765's Cards Ordered
    10/02 EAD/AP received
    04/12 Interview Sched
05/11 Interview done approval on the spot but no USCIS update online

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. It's just such a serious matter that I thought maybe that's a huge deal with background checks etc. Thanks again! I'll calm it back down to a panic
