My younger brother and I received a few correspondences from the US Embassy around 20 years ago to come and collect Green Card. Our father was not very fond of the idea even though he lived in the US for over 20years and returned to original home country so he kept any such correspondence secret from us. My elder brother is US national by birth and lives in our original home country. I now live in Canada and holds Canadian Passport. However, I never got off the idea of being US national. Can someone please assist me what should I do to get my Green Card? Can the case be opened?

Hi,
Opening case after 20 years about GC will make really useless. Instead of that, you can start new GC process. There is two options. 1. Employment based. 2. Family based. Both can be processed while you are in the abroad.
1. Employment based: You will need sponsor from US Employer.
2. Family based: If your immediate relatives are US citizen, Legal Permanent Resident then they can sponsor your GC card.
