  • Happiest person on earth.

    Hello everyone.

I'm a silent reader. But I think I should share my story maybe this will inspire someone out there who is still in the process of getting their green card. I was married for 4 years and I started my process that same year. I was advice by someone to do the process myself without using a lawyer which I did and after a year my application was denied and I had to reapply again in November 2019 and this time I had to use a lawyer. To cut the story short I got an approval last week Friday and I have my 10 years green card in hand. So to anyone out there please stay strong you’ll get a good news very soon.

    I have a question.

I have been married for 4 years and 30 days. Can I start my neutralization process ASAP? Because someone told me I can if my married is more than 3 years but my lawyer said I have to wait till 2024.

    Please I need help.

You can definitely go ahead and file for your citizenship. My brother filed for i751 and n400 together and they both got approved in a gap of 3 months

I don’t think what you are saying is correct. OP needs to be a permanent resident for 3 years before filing for citizenship.

What you saying is true upto an extent. You have to be a permanent green card holder in order to apply for citizenship. We knew that removing condition application will take around a year or so . That is the reason we applied for both together and took a chance cz now he did not have to wait for filing for citizenship which would take several more
        months

You are not able to file your citizenship until you've had your green card for at least 3 years and is still with your spouse or you have to wait 5 years to file for the citizenship if you and your suppose happens to separate.
