  • Parents Birth & Marriage certificates from Indian Consulate for GC application

Hello All, my parents are currently in US and my sister as US Citizen is thinking of filing for their green card. However they do not have birth or marriage certificates. The Indian Consulate website has a process to provide these based on passports.

Would these certificates issued by the Indian Consulate be acceptable by USCIS, or do they only accept documents/affidavits from India (or attested in India)?

    Thanks

    Hi Member,
    Please see my response below.

Answer: As per my knowledge, birth certificate from a consulate/ embassy from your home country will not be accepted. It should be come from only proper issuing authority. For more details about this, you can visit our website.
Below is link for your attention.

    Thanks
