US Citizen married to F1

Hello,

I recently married an F1 student and I would like to apply for a green card for her. She has been in US for 5 months and we got married a month ago. I did know her from before but she didn’t come here with intention to marry me. We hit it off and we got married.

my question is do I need to hire a lawyer for this case or am I good just submitting the forms by myself? The marriage is legitimate and I have no issues there but it happened fast to the American standards and I am afraid that can cause scrutiny from USCIS.

any thoughts ? Should I hire a lawyer or I am fine? Did anybody had similar case?

Answer: It you have all the documents and know the process then you can file yourself.. If you hire an Immigration Attorney , you will have better service and can smoothly run the petition filing.. If you are fine to pay fees then better choice to go ahead with Immigration Attorney..
