  • Strange ask on Ds260 document upload

While uploading docs for my 70+year old dad, they are asking petitioner marriage and birth certificate which I can provide. But I am also seeing mentioned " birth certificate " as it mentioned I am assuming they need my dad birth certificate which is strange they din't have birth certificate back then , what I am suppose to do?

    2) I have another question on vaccines, what is the process to get medical exam appointment or can my dad take the form 693 they say to any doctor or it had to designated by consulate? I am not clear on this process how it works. Please guide

    thanks again

They ask for birth certificates for everyone. There are countries that do have birth certificates for a long time (I was able to get one for 1889). If is not possible to get a birth certificate, then I read that other documents can be provided (affidavits from relatives, a copy of the marriage certificate if the birth date is shown, and other documents that provide the birth date/place of birth).

At least for Mexico, the medical exam appointment will be done when they set the interview appointment at one of two designated clinics. I guess that depending on the consulate, they should have only a few designated facilities to get the physical exam and required vaccines. Good luck.
