GC interview one day before visitor visa expiry

hello,

i have filed for my mother's GC through my citizenship. Her visa expires Oct22 but GC interview is scheduled for oct21st.. Do i need to extend visitor visa just in case GC doesn't come through ? will she get GC right at the interview ? Can she stay in the country if GC is granted but offcourse doesn't get it right away.

As long as her green card application is pending, she is in the legal status. You don't need to extend her visitors visa.
