Green card for parents

My parents are currently in the US on a visitor visa. We are planning on applying for a GC for them once they return to India (because they've been here for about 5 months already).


1. Can someone give me any information on how the process is different when you apply for a GC for someone already in the US versus when you apply for a GC for someone in another country. (India in this case.)

2. Does anyone know if it will be a problem if we get the I-693 filled out in the US before they leave? Does that constitute an expression on an intent to emigrate?

1. I-130 process is the same.

If they are in the U.S., they will file I-485. If they are in India, they will go through immigrant visa.

If they going are going to go through I-485, they don't need I-693. They need /usa-immigrant-visa-medical-examination/ instead.
