  • I-693 DEFICIENCY NOTICE - Vaccination Record is blank

    Hi,
Just happened to notice that there was new document uploaded in USCIS website under documents (after i login to my USCIS account). The letter says Courtesy Letter to Applicant. The document states as below, we did not received any physical mail of this.

did anyone else had this same experience?

we applied GC for mother-in-law (application submitted date was 08/27/2021).

"An initial review of evidence submitted with your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, determined that the evidence submitted with your application is deficient for the following reason(s): Form I-693,Vaccination Record is blank. You will be required to submit information and evidence to address these deficiencies. If you receive an interview notice in the mail, you must bring the information and evidence required to your interview appointment. Failure to bring the information and evidence to your interview appointment may result in the denial of your Form I-485. If your case does not require an interview, you will receive a Request for Evidence with further instructions. DO NOT MAIL DOCUMENTS AT THIS TIME. Mailing documents before receiving one of the notices referenced above may delay your case."

    thanks for your time.

This letter tells you everything you need to know. if your case do not require interview, they will ask you to send the I -693. If it requires an interview, you mother-in-law will bring the I-693 with her for the interview. The best course of action is probably find a Civil Surgeon in your area and start the process to avoid any delay. Sometimes, you have shots to take ( TDAP, MMR etc...) It is valid for 2 years.

Thanks for the response. We did submitted I-693 as per the requirement (in a sealed envelop from Civil Surgeon) during the submission. I also uploaded the same under miscellaneous documents after seeing USCIS response. Not sure if this is something related to COVID vaccine (which was mandated sometime in October time frame, ours filed in August)?
