Parents I130 Approved

Hello, We just received my Parents I130 approval notice. They are currently on visitor visa and staying with us in US. When I applied for their green card, I chose to apply I485 from here. Now that their 130 is approve, what's the next step please?

Do I just go ahead and apply for I485?

Yes, they can file I-485. In fact, they didn't have to wait for the I-130 to be approved to file I-485. Of course, I'm assuming they didn't misrepresent their intent when they entered as visitors.

Thank You for the quick response. No they didn't. They have been coming to U.S. since 2001 and only stay for 6 months. However, Because of the current situation , we decided to apply for their green card so they can stay here with us.

The letter says, the petition has been sent to NVC. Will they send us the next step to proceed? We will go ahead and submit the i485.

Do we need to submit 485 before dealing with NVC or its one of the documents we need to submit to NVC? A little confused on the process.. Thanks for your guidance. Appreciate it.

Also, I just noticed after logging into NVC site that the visa location is set to Mumbai even though I selected to apply for 485 here in US. Any idea?

They can always just file I-485 directly, even if the petition is at NVC.

No, you do not have to work with NVC. Just work with USCIS on the I-485.
