Anyone in the FB1 category still pending GC? I did search and no threads for FB1s. If anyone in FB1 in US filled AOS and waiting for GC, please post.

Glad that you started the thread for FB1, I am waiting for my priority to be current in Dec. or Jan. My priority date is Aug. 06 so I hope to file AOS in Dec. or Jan. When did you file AOS and how far are you from the interview date? What is your priority date by the way.

      Hi Roudoff,

My PD is 13FEB2006 and on Oct VB my PD became current. I am here in US so I sent my AOS on Sep 30th. I did not receive any text messages or emails on USCIS receiving my packet, no NOA yet. I think they send Biometrics appointment first and then interview,if required, and EAD and finally GC.

Hopefully FB1 dates will move faster. Last couple of months it moved 3-4 months but Oct VB it only moved a month and 15 days. So be patient and hope that it will move some months.

Lets keep updating so we know whats going on.

        Hi GSW,

cool! Let keep each other updated. I did not see any FB1 threat that people discuss their AOS experiences at all. I wish there were more people talk about their AOS timelines and interviews. It is good that you started this threat. My priority date is 14 Aug. 06 and I hope Visa Bulletin move at least 3 months so that my priority date can be current in Dec. or even it moves 2 months, it will be current in Jan. I am in the U.S. and will do AOS here. I think you should wait for another week to hear from USCIS or you might get NOA in the next couple of weeks. I saw some people keep on checking their bank accounts if the checks had been cashed so they knew what was going on to their cases. So hope you hear from USCIS soon and please don't forget to post your update.

Yeah let us keep updates here so we have some hope.

I am very sorry and sad that Nov. VB for F1 did not move at all. Wow that means they have lot of applications and no Visa numbers available at all. Please keep hope and stay strong. Hopefully Dec. VB will have some good news.

I will update here on my status so we know what is happening.

Hi GSW. According to visa bulletin history, it usually moves slow during the beginning of the first quarter of year and moves a bit faster during later quarters. I hope I am right about it and if it moves the same pattern according to its history then my priority should be current sometime the beginning of 2011. I really hate when it makes me so excited and gives hope that I could do AOS soon and then suddenly it moves in slow pace. It is very disappointing for November visa bulletin. Well! nothing much I can do, only just to wait and hope. lucky you that your PD became current on last October. I hope you receive some good news soon, GSW and please post your updates on this thread so I have an idea what is happening.

On Oct. 28th I received Text message and email stating my case as update. I quickly login to my USCIS account and checked on my case and it stated that on Oct. 28th they received a notice that sent out to me as undeliverable by USPS and to contact USCIS.

So I called USCIS and talked to live person and asked the agent why the notice was returned as undeliverable. She had no way of checking my address on file but took all my details to file a service request so that they can send the notice again. My address has been same from the day one I filed my I130 and I got all the letters without any issues. So I don't understand why this one got returned by USPS.

Anyway on Oct. 29th, I received my Biometrics appointment letter. I don't know if this was the notice that it got returned or something else, but I made a service request, so will see in two weeks what comes in the mail.

                Update:

                30SEP10 AOS packet sent
                03OCT10 Packet received at USCIS
12OCT10 Email & Text message received with Receipt No's
15OCT10 I797 NOA hard copies received by US mail (2 NOA's)
28OCT10 Email & Text message for a Notice Undeliverable by USPS
                -made service request to resend.
29OCT10 Received Biometrics appointment notice for 16NOV10

                  Hi GSW

You are one step closer to get a green card. I heard that some immigration offices accept walk-in biometrics that you may want to try to do walk-in. This may help to accelerate your case to move faster. I am happy for you. I have prayed to God everyday to have visa bulletin move faster. Thanks for updating you timeline.

Nov 16th was my Biometrics appointment. Was in and out in 20 min. They take digital pictures for both green card and EAD.

Roudoff - I did research about walkin biometrics but no one has done it at Van Nuys, CA Application Support Center. I know some other places in So.Cal that people have walked in and was successful and some were denied and were told to come back on the appointment date. So I did not take a chance and I was out of state and had to fly to Cali just for my appointment.

Congrats! GSW, you are receiving a work permit in mail and also a green card pretty soon. Way to go!. I am so disappointed on last couple of months visa bulletin especially January visa bulletin retrogression. I have had my health care career on hold for over a year since I finished school. All my college friends are making a lot of money but me. It's so depressing! Nothing I can do, only to wait and wait. Thanks for the update GSW.

On 21 December I received my EAD card. It came on a regular USPS Priority Envelope.

                          Roudoff,

I know how you feel. I been not working since 2006 and was waiting for this to arrive. I started my immigration process way back in 2000 and once I get my PR card I will write my full time line from the beginning. Just be strong and hopefully VB will move again. I am also affected by Jan VB.

My lawyer said that I will be affected by this retrogression too. Apparently you have to have an approved I485 before Jan 1st in which the Jan 2011 VB goes into effect. So when I get my interview it will be in Jan or Feb and according to my lawyer, she said USCIS will send out interview letter and will do your interview but (the famous BUT) if approved, I will not get my PR card until my PD becomes current again. One thing she said clearly was that USCIS will not reject or deny any applications that are already filed and applicants who will be affected by this retrogression.

All I can do is wait and keep extending my EAD if my PD doesn't become current by next year. I can work now which is the biggest thing.

                            Merry Christmas GSW

What you said is very encouraging and thank you for that. I think we should have a clear picture when February visa bulletin comes out next month for how long we will have to wait. Again lets hope that it moves forward. I have a feeling that you might have to wait only less than a year. Be happy! GSW because you can start working now while waiting for a green card. Good luck!!

I had my interview on Feb 2. Everything went OK. So due to the retrogression, I was told to keep and eye on VB and when my PD become current to notify them so they can issue GC. The other thing is that if PD does not become current within 1 year and 3 months of my Biometrics date, I have to do finger printing again in which its going to take more time.
