  • Question about priority date ?

I am LPR and I filed for my spouse in August 2010. I got I-797C notice of action but I really dont understand some dates . Let me explain please....received date is 26 august 2010 , priority date is also 26th august 2010 and notice date is 29 august 2010.

I just want to know that this priority date is real one or they will send something else. Because I have heard that your received date and priorty date cant be same. Please explain me.

One thing more regarding prefrence classification (203 A2A INA SPOUSE OF LPR) is this correct because my visa category comes in F2A , why this A2A ?

If this priorty date is real than can you please give me an ideal wating time?

Priority Date is the date shown on the I797C notice. Please visa the www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin site to see your category and the priority date and you will have an idea of the processing time.
There is a possibility that since you are a LPR, you may have been issued the A2A category. Please call the USCIS customer service number shown on the letter and explain them the situation.
    Good Luck!
