Travelling while 485 Pending

We've filed 485 for my parents. My question is, In case of an emergency or in general , are they able to Travel to India while pending 485? If so, what would they need to travel?

Not unless they have been granted Advance Parole; otherwise if they leave while I-485 is pending without Advance Parole they will automatically abandon their I-485. They should file I-765 for EAD and I-131 for Advance Parole, both for free, with their I-485. EAD/AP take many months to get. If they have a very urgent emergency before they get Advance Parole, they can try to get an appointment in person at the local USCIS office to apply for Emergency Advance Parole.
