Hello all,
Thanks for the great site. I was extremely confused until I came here. Now I am just a little concerned about the step by step procedures.
I am preparing documentation for my spouse's GC. I-130, G325A and such. This all seems straight forward and do not expect any problems based on our history and available documentation. We have been together for 9 yrs and married the last 3. I am a US citizen and she is from Indonesia. I travel for work and she has been traveling with me for the last 5 yrs to several countries. It’s been great. What a life. We now want to share our marriage with our family in the states.
Ok..enough of that,
I have some questions that may seem silly to some but I was not able to find the answers on this or other sites.
1. Because I am currently traveling outside of the US for work and filing the petition I was wondering if there is any reason I would have to return home for any part of the process? I do plan on returning for the month of December but will need to return to site in early January 2011 and stay through May 2011.
My plan is to have the paperwork sent to Chicago through my employer who is very willing to help us. I would send them the completed forms and they would attach the funds and courier it to Chicago.
My brother is taking care of the house so he can handle anything being sent there and forward it to me. (Great guy. We talk every day).
2. Do I need to be fingerprinted or just my wife? (Silly question number one).
3. I am sending forms I-130 and G325A. Should I be sending others with the petition? The only thing we are looking for right now is to have my wife be able to freely join me when I return home between jobs and then be able to follow me when leaving.
4. Is there a sample affidavit available from a friend to provide proof of relationship? I have not been able to find one.
Thanks for any advise you can give. I look forward to speaking with all of you. I will also keep you posted on how things are going for us.
Thanks again.
