Hi,
I have a specific question regarding form affidavit I-864A (contract with household member) and would like to hear about experiences from the forum members.
I'm the intended immigrant in a process sponsored by my son, I'm the father of a US citizen.
My son (US citizen and sponsor of the immigration process) is attending university in the USA and works part time.
I'm planning on moving my residence to the US address where my son is currently living once the immigration process is completed.
My son's yearly income/salary is below the minimum amount required by 864P for our household but adding my yearly income (Mexico based) to my son's income (US based) the amount required by the 864P is met, not even considering assets that can be added to an I-864-A affidavit if needed.
I'm a citizen of Mexico and currently living in Mexico, I'm a businessman and all my income is produced in Mexico, taxes paid in Mexico. However I do have substantial savings in US bank accounts. My income from Mexico will continue after I move to the US.
Is form I-864-A the correct option for my immigration case?? (with me as the intended immigrant as household member, and signer of the form)
or a Joint sponsor -additional I-864 form- would be required??
Thanks in advance for your comments
