  • I 130 vs K1

I am an Indian National; born in Taiwan, residing in India, plan to get married in Thailand to a US Citizen.
What might be the fastest route to enter the US?
    • A I130 application as a spouse
    • or K1 as a fiancé?
Never been to the US before and processing center might be US consulate in Mumbai, IN. Appreciate your inputs

    Thanks

K1 means you have to marry after entering the US. If you plan to get married in Thailand, then you have to get an immigrant visa as a spouse after the marriage.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Thanks for getting back. We could potentially get married in the US. Question is,
      • Is it better to get married in India/Thailand and go to the US as a spouse on the I 130 route?
      • Or is it better to apply for a K1 visa and go get married in the US with-in 90 days of arrival?
Trying to assess the time-lines for both and see what the best option might be as per the current scenario.

      Thanks
