GC for brother

I appled GC for my brother in 2001 but he recently passed away in a tragic accident. Will my brother's wife and son be able to get GC whenever the priority date becomes current after 10-12 years from now. I did put in their names in the appliaction.
Do I have to notify INS regarding his death? Please advise.
