  • January Filer for Parents

Hello - I applied for my mom and dad in January (we are in Chicago and sent to Chicago USCIS) and their priority date is January 4, 2022. I applied I-130 (Petition), I-485 (AOS), I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP) for both of them. We got receipt notices for both and got their fingerprints done in February 2022. Since then, both of them have received their SSNs and EAD card. But rest everything seems to be on halt. No further status updates since Feb on I-130, I-485 and I-131. Any cause of concern here or ways to get this expedited? Thank you.

Hi, the acceptance letter received on Jan 12 doesn't state the service center. It says "National Benefits Center" at the bottom and address is MO state. Any other way to figure out?

Does it say National Benefits Center, Lee's Summit, MO then it is Kansas City
Look at the bottom left of the I-797 receipt notice.

Me (US Citizen) , Mother (B2) from India, AOS submitted
        April-2021 filed I-130 online, I-130 approved in June-2021
7/06/2021 - package sent out via Fedex to Chicago Lock Box.
07/08/2021 - package delivered and signed by Harper.
        07/25/21 Submitted medical I 693 separately
        9/25/21 Biometric Appointment done
01/05/22 Second Biometric Appointment done because first one was not good enough
On USCIS website it says Case is being actively reviewed
        No updates since January 2022

Just bumping this up to see if anyone has any thoughts on this:

I am a US citizen and applied for my mom and dad GC in January 2022 (we are in Chicago and sent to Chicago USCIS) and their priority date is January 4, 2022. I applied I-130 (Petition), I-485 (AOS), I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP) for both of them. We got receipt notices for both for all forms and got their fingerprints done in February 2022.

Since then, both of them have received their SSNs and EAD (I-130) cards. But rest everything seems to be on halt, including the I-130 petitions. No further status updates since Feb on I-130, I-485 and I-131. Any cause of concern here or ways to get this expedited? All forms say "National Benefits Center" at bottom. Please let me know. Thank you so much.

Will need some more information to answer your questions -

            1. The name of the service center where these are being processed. You said you received receipt notices for the I130, I485 and I131 for both your parents. Please find the first 3 characters in the receipt number and post them here. These receipt numbers start with three letters followed by a series of numbers, for example EAC-15-123-45678. My best guess is that the first 3 letters of the receipt numbers for all six of your receipts is either LIN or NSC, since you said you are from Chicago, but please confirm and post. Each center has their own backlog, and it is difficult to comment on your questions without understanding first the service center(s) where your applications are pending.

            2. What date did you receive the EAD and the social security cards for your parents?

            3. What is the USCIS field office city and state for adjustment of status that you wrote in the I130 application form, on Page 8 Fields 61a and 61b? This is the city where the I485 adjustment of status interview may take place. Each field office city has their own backlog for I 485. Again, difficult to comment without knowing the field office city.

            4. Did you file the I-693 medical report along with I485 AOS on Jan 4, 2022? If not, have you received an RFE for the medical report?

I think based on the above information, one may be better able to judge if there is any cause for concern.

1.) The Receipt numbers start with IOE
2.) On June 1st'2022, they received EADs and SSNs a week later.
              3.) Chicago, IL.
4.) I sent the I-693 medical with the AOS on Jan 4, 2022. No RFEs on anything yet.

              Thank you.

Hi, I have a similar situation and wanted to check if you have any updates. I applied for my mom at the Chicago center in March and received the EAD card (in August) so far with no updates on the I-130 and I-485.

Similar situation here, applied for green card I-130 and I-485.and I-131 ( Advanced Parole) for my parents in March 2022 from Charlotte, they got their EAD in August 2022 but no updates since then, they would like to travel back but still waiting on AP. Has anyone else received AP for that timeline? processing timelines indicate February 2023 as ETA.
