IR5 interview at the Mumbai consulate

Hi,

My parents have an interview in a couple weeks at the Mumbai consulate.
Is it too late to add a joint sponsor? Also, how do I add a joint sponsor? Should I write to the NVC or contact the Mumbai consulate?
