Hello all,
I am looking to concurrently file Forms I-130 (Petition for immediate relative) and I-485 (Adjustment of Status) for my mother who is currently here in the US.
My mother's full legal name comprises a very long Family Name -- it is a composite of multiple names that add up to 32 characters.
Unfortunately, on USCIS forms such as I-485 and I-131, the maximum character limit (that one can type into the forms) is about 28-29 characters. In such a circumstance, what might the best recommended course of action be?
I have a few options, but was unsure of how to proceed:
1) Type the first 28 characters, and then fill the remaining characters by ink after printing?
2) Type in only the first 28 characters, and attach a sticky note everywhere the said name occurs, to indicate the actual full Family Name on the sticky note?
3) Type in only the first 28 characters, and include an entry in the Additional Information page specifying the full Family Name with all 32 characters?
I would highly appreciate it if anyone could share their thoughts on this, or direct me towards the best strategy to deal with this issue.
Thanks!
