  • After I-130 what next

I submitted i-130 in August 2010 for my daughter she is unmarried and over 21. I want to know if she can continue to travel to and frm on her visiting visa. Also when can i expect to hear from immigration after i receive the receipt number. I keep checking the visa bullitin, and things seemed to have slowed down.

Which Family based category is it? F1 or F2B? There may be over a year difference, depending on country.

The longer the wait and the better the ties to the home country, the better the chances of travel on a nonimmigrant visa.

Of course H or L nonimmigrant visas would not be hindered by the immigrant visa awaiting a current priority date.

It looks like her wait is anywhere from 5 1/2 to 18-19 years depending on country.

Does she have any other prospects for immigrating? Job skills or possible marriage to a USC or LPR in her future?

How about your chances of naturalizing? That would change her visa category and shorten the wait. Her priority date Aug 2110, would never change but the wait time can change based on changed circumstances.

Your naturalization would move her to F1.

Her marriage to another non-LPR alien after your naturalization would move her to F4.

Her marriage to another non-LPR alien without your naturalization would kick her out of line, because that category does not exist.
