Hi,
My name is Poonam and I recently received my Immigrant Visa (expires in Feb 2011). I reached US in early November and the immigrant officer stamped on my passport and wrote a "A######" number on it and stated that this is my temporary green card.
I have a couple of questions:
1.) How much time does it usually take for the plastic card to arrive?
2.) Can I travel back to India without the plastic card in December '10 and travel back to US after 10-12 days without the plastic card and having a stamp on my passport? Will the people in India allow me travel back to US without the envelope with me this time around because that is the first thing that they ask for in case of an immigrant visa case? Also I hope this does not cause any issues in my transit time.
