  • Petitioner's original documents

    Dear All:

I believe the beneficiary's birth certificate, police clearance need to be submitted. Do the petitioner need to submit his original documents like the original birth certificate, education certificate, passport/ green card photocopy with the DS 230?

    thanks all

Everything should have already been submitted with the petition that was filed with USCIS. USCIS sent the file to NVC. NVC sent the file to the Consulate/Embassy. There will be an interview at the Consulate/Embassy at which time originals may be presented for examination. The original passport will be required in order to get the visa placed in it. The Consular Officers will guide the beneficiaries in the specifics for that post as they go along.

Actually, it depends upon the type of the consulate the beneficiary is going to: whether it is an appointment post or standard review post.
