Sent back from Greencard interview due to biometrics not done

I applied for an Immigrant visa ( Greencard) for my Dad.

His interview was scheduled on 11/30/2023 (today). We were not aware or got confused with the biometrics appointment requirement and hence my Dad was sent back from Mumbai consulate for biometrics not being done. The interview letter we received did not any information on the biometrics requirement. Also in the prep website there was no clear instructions on the biometrics requirement.

We have medical examination and all other documents are in place just we got confused with the biometrics part.

What is the procedure now ? Can anybody please help with that.

Also please let us know the procedure for biometrics appointment. It was not clear to us on where to go or how to schedule the biometrics for the application. Any guidance here will be helpful.

My mother has Interview in Jan 2024 and I took office visit appointment through https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/. Though it doesn't say exclusively finger printing, I blocked this appointment and want to call them to confirm. Please see if you can so same as well
