Police clearance certificate

My I-130 was approved last week for GC thru US citizen spouse, both of us are located in India . I understand there is a police clearance certificate requirement at some stage and would like to apply as soon as possible.
Where do we need to get the PCC from ? We are located in Mumbai.

Also, I have a spelling error of father name on my birth certificate. Do we need to fix and get a corrected one before the visa interview process?

You need a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Mumbai, which can be applied for via the Passport Seva website or at a Passport Seva Kendra. For the spelling error on your birth certificate, it's advisable to correct it before the visa interview. If not possible, prepare an affidavit of birth and secondary evidence to address the discrepancy.
