Parents GC - I130 March 2023 Filer

Hi, I filed for I130 for my parents to start off their GC application process back in March 2023. I received the receipt notice and the status update to "application being actively reviewed" pretty quickly, however since May 3rd 2023 the case has not moved further and the status on USCIS website changed to "your application is taking longer than expected" a couple of months back around Sept.

I am wondering what everyone else is experiencing regarding timelines, I'm concerned if I130 takes so long, how the remaining stages would go after this stage, with I485, NVC etc still remaining. Please share your timelines with where you are in the process to add some light for everyone like me. Thank you so much!

I hope your parent I-130 gets approved soon. Did you apply I-485 concurrently or will you be applying for consular process. I'm yet to file I-130 for my parent from India. Any thoughts which is faster - consular process (Mumbai) or Adjustment of status process (I-485)?

Thanks, I hope your parents case goes smoothly.
My parents are not in the US right now, I learnt if they are outside, DS260 is the form to be used (going through the consular process). I485 is for the process if they are in the US when you are applying to GC for them. I believe if they need to go through the consular process you can't apply for I130 and DS260 concurrently but I have heard cases where people have done I130 and I485 concurrently if their parents are in the US while they apply.
