Hi there, I am going to petition my parents for US permanent residency and I was wondering if it is recommended to hire an immigration lawyer?
When I applied for my greencard, I hired a lawyer and he pretty much all he did was submitted the documents and forms. I did all the compilation of evidence, etc. I felt like having a lawyer was not worth it.
I did not hire a lawyer when I applied for citizenship. I passed the interview without any help of a lawyer.
My parents have clean records, no criminal history and they’ve maintained their tourist visas for decades now.
I would like to know your thoughts on this and if you would recommend hiring a lawyer for petitioning parents. Thank you!
