birth certifcate

Dear all,

I am applying GC for my parents. But they don't have birth certificate. So they have to notarize one. Do you know if the followings are all necessary and also enough in the certificate?

1) Name
2) Date of Birth
3) Place of Birth
4) Parents names and date of birth

I believe 1)-3) are essential. But do we need 4)? This is because my grandparents are all passed away and it is very difficult to get information to prove the relationship between them and my parents.

So, in summary, is 4) necessary? and do I miss anything? Thanks a lot!

Yes, #4 is mandatory (the names of the person's parents, not the date of births).
