  • Advice on DS-260

This is in regards to an application, I am currently a US citizen (40s) and I petitioned my parents (age 70s) as immediate relatives (currently reside in canada).
    Few details:
-Parents used to live in the US and overstayed for >10 years (1996-2012)
-B2 Visa (1996): Family of four, arrived on a B2 visa from Colombia with legal entry, parents realized they couldn't return to Colombia (danger) overstayed until 2012.
-2007. Dad received refugee status in Canada- now he is a Canadian citizen, petitioned for the family for Canadian residency, my mom received canadian residency in 2012.
-When our family was in the US, my parents overstayed for >10 years, have returned to the US as Canadian residents around 2018 (<10 years outside the US), and have never been rejected from entry to the US.
    ------
    2. Approved applications:
    -Petition for Alien Relative: I-130
    -Affidavit of Support I-864
-Did not file I-485 ( as they live in Canada)
    -DS-260
    -Pending: Medical exam
-Pending: Visa interview has been scheduled

    3. Questions
-During the visa interview, can they disclose they worked in the USA (both had jobs paid $5 in a dry cleaners owned by a person they went to church with- never made more than 15,000 per year)
-Is it worth going through the visa interview? Is there a possibility their visa will be completely denied? or they will be banned entry?

Any guidance is truly appreciated in how we should proceed with this.
