  • Endorsement for Immigrant visa

Our immigrant visa on the passport says "upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evindencing permanent residence for 1 year".
Upon admission to the US as an immigrant, how does the endorsement on the immigrant visa look like ?
The one we got looks like a standard USA entry stamp on the passport (the oval one) that the officer
stamp on the adjacent page of the immigrant visa page.
Inside it was written F4 1, but no validity date.

Is that the correct endorsement ?
Is the 1 year validity from the date of entry or the IV issue date ?

    Thank you

Attached is the entry stamp that we got (I erased the entry port and the date)
Notice, they didn't write the validity date.
      They only wrote F4 1.
      Is that OK ?

          Sorry, here it is.
The entry date is printed on the stamp, not hand written.

            Hi immihelp,
Have you got a chance to look at the entry stamp that I got on my passport ?
Is this the endorsement on the immigrant visa ?
            Thank you

              That's correct.

              Its validity is one year.

                Thanks, Immihelp.
So, even though they didn't write down the expiry date, it is assumed that it is 1 year from the date of entry listed on that entry stamp, is that correct ?
(For ex: if the date of entry is Jan 19, 2011, then it is valid until Jan 18, 2012)
