  • US Citizen (Petitioner) attending the interview in the embassy with Applicant parents

I am a US citizen, a Petitioner for I-130 and IR-5 visas for my parents
My lawyer advised me that I can be allowed to be present inside the embassy during the visa interview of my parents.
    Is it correct?
I see conflicting information on official websites. Embassy in Dominican Republic webpage says it's ok for Petitioners to appear. Main state.gov site says that Petitioners are not supposed to appear (but doesn't say prohibited).

Thoughts? Anyone had experience with this?

Hi, my take on it is this:
It says " webpage says it's ok for Petitioners to appear. Main state.gov site says that Petitioners are not supposed to appear", not supposed to as in you don't have to but can if want to.
