So, my mom has IR-5 visa and is about to come to the US. We're trying to figure out how to check the status of her case and preparation of her green card.
We tried paying the USCIS immigration fee using A-number (registration number from the visa) and DOS-number (IV-number from the visa), money got charged, but we got no clarity that the payment was applied to correct case. Is there a way to check that?
I'd like to see at least that the payment was taken and the green card preparation is in process, and they are not waiting for anything from us.

- is it possible to see it while logged in to https://my.uscis.gov/? Right now when she is logged in under her account it's empty, there is no case visible.
- USCIS says that https://my.uscis.gov/ is the right place to update your mailing address for green card - but how? can't find an option.
- There is a separate website called USCIS Case status https://egov.uscis.gov/. But it's unclear which Receipt number should be entered here. We tried entering NVC case number and it just says "The receipt number entered is invalid, please try again."
