My widowed mother's (80+ years old) I-130 & I-485 application was rejected for a minor mistake on the check. USCIS sent the letter with barcoded copy of all attachments. However, while refiling, I noticed an error in her birth certificate.
I wanted to know if it is okay/safe to attach a copy of the corrected birth certificate since refiling is a complete application package. Or do I also need to attach a letter explaining the error and justifying the updated version? Does USCIS compare refiling documents against scanned copies of the original filing they already have?
