  • I-130 for sibling. Online form asks for "Evidence of the end of your prior marriage"?

    Hi friends,

I am gathering documents to submit along with my I-130 online application for my sister. I have our birth certificates translated and certified. However, I am confused since the form also asks me to upload "Evidence of the end of your prior marriage," which does not seem necessarily required as it says in the "I-130 instructions." Does anyone know if I need to submit this proof as well? Thank you for all comments and answers.

I went through the I-130 process recently, and from what I remember, you only need to upload proof of prior marriages ending if it’s relevant—like if you or your sibling were married and divorced before. In my case, I didn’t have to include it because it didn’t apply to me, so I just focused on the required documents for my specific situation. If there’s nothing to upload for that section, you should be fine to leave it blank.
